Please join us in extending our best wishes and gratitude to Joe Caliro who is retiring effective 31 December 2022. Joe has been an integral part of Globe since 2010. In his almost 13 years with the company, he transformed many key aspects of Globe’s Brand and customer experience. There are to many to mention, however to highlight a few:

  • Joe started his career in Globe as a consultant to improve Customer Experience in 2010. It was during this period where he was given the daunting task of transitioning all of Globe’s call centers from local based operators to all multinational call centers. At the same time implementing all new Quality and Customer Satisfaction measurement that help Globe dramatically improve their Customer Service Experience. Most people don’t know that Joe transitioned the buying of load from text to the now interracial USSD *143#.

  • His next task was to transform the entire retail experience, both for management as well as the customer experience. The store’s turnaround was dramatic, culminating with the pioneering innovative customer retail experience, with the award winning Gen3 stores, leading to Globe first and only Iconic Store in BGC. Joe at the same time, established the Retail Brand 0917, loved by all.

  • From the success of the Stores operations, Joe was asked to build and grow Globe Entertainment. He helped built Globe Live, Globe Studios, Publishing Magazine Wonder and proceeded to change the face of live theater, films, music and short form content creation. Joe’s team created many great Globe events along with award winning musicals and films. He started our first record label Paradise Rising, with the impressive partnership with 88 Rising. He ends his career with an Emmy Nomination and a runoff for an Oscar Nomination for the film and series OTJ The Missing 8!

  • In 2021, Joe played a pivotal role in setting up Kroma Entertainment. Joe was able to set up Kroma’s distribution operations, and continued to develop great content that will soon be shown in  theaters and streaming platforms.

Joe will still be tapped as a consultant for ad hoc projects for both Globe and Kroma as needed. As you know Joe, there is no such thing as retirement.

On behalf of the Globe Group, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Joe for all his invaluable contributions to the company. We wish him good health and an enjoyable retirement.

Ernest and Ian
