ISG Volunteers Join Fight To End Hunger
Rising against hunger yet again!

Hunger doesn’t have to exist — let’s end it together.

A remarkable day had once again gone down in history as members of Globe's Information Systems Group – who we call "Ka-ISG" – and partners recently teamed up with Rise Against Hunger (RAH). There were 175 Regular Employees, 39 Vendor Employees, and two Finance Partners from Globe, while 62 ISG Partners from Amdocs, Crayon, Indra, NCS, Openet, Oracle, Srijan, Stratpoint, and Tech Mahindra joined in. A total of 278 volunteers — exceeding the targeted 100 — spared an hour of their time at The Globe Tower's 6F to pack meals for people in need. It was a huge turnout!

RAH has been a constant partner of Globe in supporting and helping people who need it most. The organization aims to end hunger by providing food and life-saving aid while also creating a global commitment to mobilize these resources.

In line with our purpose, ISG took part in this worthy cause as part of the community. A total of six batches (with more or less 50 volunteers) signed up and each had to pack as many meals as they can within a one-hour window!

Each volunteer belonged to a workstation with a specific task at hand. The first station was designated for filling in the pack with flavor packets, soy, and rice.

The second station involved a series of quality checks, while the last stop was allotted to put a total of 36 meal packs in one box.

Every once in a while, our ISG employees and partners would share some light-hearted banter on whose team could produce the most packed meals in the shortest amount of time! All in the spirit of fun while giving.

Throughout the activity, the volunteers worked seamlessly with one another, producing a whopping 100 boxes. Twenty of these boxes will be sent out to Batanes as a reserve pool for calamity victims while the remaining 80 boxes will go to residents of Tondo, Manila.

The initial goal was to pack meals, but it turned out to be so much more. It was also an opportunity for our Ka-ISG and partners to mix and mingle, all in the spirit of goodwill.

Everyone there cheered each other on, shared a good laugh, and helped out. The group was a blend of first-timers and veterans, but nonetheless, all were more than willing to be a part of the growing coalition of hunger champions.

Our Ka-ISG and our Chief Information Officer, Pebbles Sy-Manalang, was also present to lend a helping hand. She acknowledged and thanked our partners for being a part of ISG’s initiative.

We would like to thank all Ka-ISG and partners who made their mark during that event. Together, we helped create a #GlobeofGood, one packed meal at a time. Let’s continue to pay it forward!
