A Valentine's Of Music: Attack Of the Heart
Ka-Globe talent at centerstage

It was another Valentine week to remember as Globe Music and Performing Arts Club (MusAC) and HR Employee Programs ran another one of its yearly Valentine offering, this time dubbed "Attack Of the Heart" - though thankfully, all the heartaches happened only through songs. Our Ka-Globe who attended were in fact, generally happy, and not bitter, as opposed to the "hugot" songs blurted out by some of the night's performers.

The crowd at the 'Attack'

Alvin Labiano: one bucket list item ticked

First up on the stage is Information Systems Group's (ISG) Alvin Labiano who wowed our Ka-Globe with his pop songs playing his ukelele. According to him, it was in his bucket list to perform live! Now that's what MusAC is all about right there!

Lost Trios didn't sound like they were lost!

Next, Lost Trios took the stage - a group composed of Ka-Globe from Network Technical Group (NTG) and ISG. The group pulled off original songs along with covers from John Mayer and Sugarfree. The newly formed trio is composed of Neil Candolesas, Robert Cipres and Sonny Aguilar.

BeLike made the crowd groove

MusAC gig mainstays BeLikeCris were next on the stage with songs "Underneath It All" (No Doubt), "Sa'yo" (Silent Sanctuary) and "Shut Up" (Walk the Moon). The group is composed of members of the Enterprise Group (EG), ISG, and NTG with members Maricris Guitering, Neil Candolesas, Sonny Aguilar, Michael Principe and Richard Tabigue, who also led the event preps for MusAC.

BeLikeCris would also be at Balkan BGC on March 14.

Wiredandwireless and jammers on stage

This event was also the debut of Wireandwireless composed of Corporate Legal Services Group's (CLSG) Nina Valera and Mika Sarmiento. The group blurted out their renditions of "Through the Fire" (Chaka Khan), "New Rules" (Dua Lipa) and an OPM classic, "If" ("Ifagfatawad Mo") Yeah. Okay, that was a bad joke. We move on.

CLSG's group was backed up by NTG's Adlai Jawid, Sonny Aguilar and Richard Tabigue.

SPUNK!!! rocks the house!

Another MusAC event mainstay followed with SPUNK!!!, the rocking group composed of NTG Ka-Globe: Jonathan dela Cruz, Alex Hanopol, Dennis Lance and Dennis Cariaso, fronted by the hooded Prince Madrid.

Lara owns the stage!

Adi and his guitar. Thanks for hosting, too!

Solo acts Lara De Castro (NTG) and Adi Tanchoco (Enterprise Data Office) wrapped up the night of listed performers performing "hugot" songs that delighted the Ka-Globe crowd. With Lara's family present to support her during the night, the soloist showed inspiration in her set. Adi, for his part, performed his version of popular love songs even as he hosted the event for us.

After the performers, the floor was opened for jamming sessions wherein our Ka-Globe were able to sing and jam with the members of MusAC proving to be among the highlights of the night. And as always, our Ka-Globe never failed to wow the audience with their own versions of popular hits.

Throughout the show, raffle items were given to registered attendees, provided by our sponsors from Content, Postpaid, Prepaid and Globe Lifestyle teams. And with beer at a very affordable "only at TGT" P39 per can, the night rolled on like there no one could have enough music and booze.

MusAC would also like to thank fellow Globe Interest Club, Click/DRMHWS for covering the event. Thanks Zach Ballaran and Prince!

'Till next time MusACeros!
