Who doesn't want faster internet? Everyone wants that! And with our lives consistently being tugged into the digital world, the thirst for faster and faster internet connection continues to be insatiable!

So, beginning in 2008, Content Delivery Network (CDN) services company Akamai started to put out a quarterly State of the Internet Connectivity report to show how internet speeds are developing across the globe. Because of this, the report has become a de facto fact-check mechanism used by most news outfits around the world.

PH internet speeds improved in Q4 2015

We should be happy about this as citizens of this country! The average speed in the PH in the lastest report is 3.2 mbps, up .4-mbps increase from last quarter report's 2.8 mbps. But you know what, we're still lagging behind in terms of our neighbors.

In its report, yugatech.com put southeast asian countries side by side (well, not literally as they were stacked above each other in comparison!) exposing how we still have the penultimately worst internet in Asia, only better than India in average internet speeds. Here's the complete report culled by the tech news site:

In terms of peak mbps capability, we are dead third from the bottom, but perhaps we should celebrate a small victory over our territorial- dispute friends China who's 92 in the global rankings?

But why don't we do something about these dismal internet speeds?

The short answer is: We definitely want that too! That's why, just this morning, we put out this infographic over at our Globe ICON Facebook Page:

Right now, it already has 193 shares. Well, I'm sure we could do better than that, right? This is us putting out our desire to help the country to not only the Philippines, but to the world!

Share away, Ka-Globe!
