Post-Christmas Volunteaming Fun
Ka-Globe discovers fun while sharing blessings

We must've been part of a new generation of magi - the three kings. This came to mind as our North Luzon West Cluster Sales (NLWEST CSAS) took part in giving love to some of our less fortunate brothers in rehabilitation centers.

Every time we hear the word "volunteering", what immediately comes to mind is helping those who were affected by natural disasters or calamity. But last January 8, NLWEST CSALES team defined volunteering in a different way as we visited one of the least-visited shelters - the Rehabilitation Center for the Youth in La Union.

The center is home for 96 male juvenile offenders from the different provinces of Regions 1, 2 and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR). Aged between 13-18 with different criminal cases, these young people rarely get a chance to be visited by any member of their families, thus, depriving them of the love and needed support they need for “healing”.

The date was also fitting because it was the week when the Catholic Faith is celebrating the Feast of the Three Kings, when the child Jesus was visited by the glorious trio.

A mini sportsfest was held putting back hope in the eyes of our youth who needed the most love and care. During lunch, a thanksgiving was done by Globe by donating hygiene kits consisting of soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and various sports equipment for basketball and volleyball including nets and others sports paraphernalia that the youth in the camp can use for their recreational activities.

It was a day full of love and thanksgiving. Short talks were shared about love, understanding and about life in general, conducted by one of our Ka-Globe, Eileen, a member of Christian Youth Ministry.

As John 13:34-35 states: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

It was indeed a meaningful day, spreading Globe love to the less fortunate brothers in our community.
