Another #ProudKaGlobe moment, or should we say moments, incoming Ka-Globe!

Just recently, Ernest, once again, made it to the Global Telecoms Business annual Power100 list, as one of the Top Operators from Asia. The recognition reads:

Under Cu’s leadership, Globe Telecom has held its own against stiffening competition in the telecoms market in the Philippines. Setting itself apart  from its rivals, the operator has focussed on growing its revenue from the market’s postpaid subscriptions while providing consumers with value-added services such as music streaming service Spotify and video streaming service Hooq in a bid to boost its revenues.

Alongside Ernest under the said category is SingTel CEO Chua Sock Koong; Reliance Jio Managing Director Mukesh Ambani; Hutchison Whampoa Chairman Li Ka-shing; SK Telecom CTO Alex Jinsung Choi; Bharti Airtel Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal; Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son; NTT CEO Hiroo Unuora; China Mobile Chairman Xi Guohua; and Telstra CEO Andy Penn. Ernest is the only Filipino that made it to the list.

This year's GTB Power100 was not ranked in any specific order.

Other notable figures in the Power100 are T-Mobile President and CEO John Legere; Netflix CEO Reed Hastings; Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos; Spotify CEO Daniel Ek; Google CEO Sundhar Pichai; YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki; and Facebook Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg among others.

The Power100 is a yearly recognition of the 100 most influential telecom leaders WORLDWIDE published by Global Telecoms Business, a London-based business magazine.

TWO MORE BANGS!

But it doesnt stop there Ka-Globe, as we have bagged not just one more, but 2 more awards.

Globe was recently named to the Top 3 in corporate governance among listed companies in the Philippines and Top 50 among listed companies in ASEAN region by the Asean Capital Markets Forum (ACMF), recognizing our efforts in practicing good corporate governance.

The ASEAN Corporate Governance Awards is the region’s most prestigious event that recognizes the efforts of companies that continuously implement good corporate governance in their operations and services as well as further educating and inspiring companies of the significance of instilling and maintaining good corporate governance. Awarding ceremonies were held over the weekend (November 14) at the Manila Polo Club.

Envisioned to be a platform that inspires and educates both public and private companies about good governance, the ASEAN Corporate Governance Awards puts emphasis on the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) and the best practices that it promotes. Following the global financial crisis that started in 2007, the ACMF reexamined the effectiveness of existing capital market incentives and financial regulatory structures with the goal of promoting good governance. The ACGS was developed to assist in evaluating publicly listed companies. The ACGS was created in 2011 as one of the initiatives in preparation for the ASEAN economic integration beginning 2015.

“The two awards further bolster our commitment to uphold high standards of corporate governance, particularly in terms of promoting accountability, transparency and integrity in all aspects of the business, which is also evidenced by the remarkable business growth and increased shareholder confidence that such strategy has generated for the company,” Ernest says.

Let's keep on racking and rocking those awards, Ka-Globe!
