Last Wednesday, October 14, the Kickstart headquarters in 55 Paseo de Roxas - more popularly referred to as "Area55" - went into a tizzy as the guy who helped build their most favorite online hangout was in their midst - Eduardo Saverin, Facebook co-founder, also listed by Forbes.com as the #38 Richest in Tech, 2015.

Eduardo was in town for the Forbes Global CEO Conference, October 12-14, which was held at the Solaire Resort & Casino Manila.

His visit to Kickstart was made possible by Paul Santos, Managing Partner of Wavemaker Partners (Singapore) and Kickstart's co-investor for its portfolio companies ZAP, Kalibrr, and Four Eyes.

While at Kickstart, Eduardo met with the Kickstart Deal Team to learn more about the Philippines' emerging startup ecosystem. It was followed by pitches from Kalibrr co-founders Paul Rivera and Dexter Ligot-Gordon; mClinica founder Farouk Meralli; and Coins.ph founder Ron Hosé.

Eduardo, who now resides in Singapore, is co-founder of Velos Partners, an L.A.-based private equity firm. Some of his latest investments include online news site TechinAsia - a great supporter and champion of Philippine startups.

Christian Besler, Kickstart co-Founder and Head of Community Engagement summed up his visit to Area 55 best: "He left with the statement: I will definitely come back. There you go, we won another #‎startupPH supporter in Eduardo Saverin."
