I am from the Marketing Team of IT Enabled Services Group (IG). Our group serves the IT requirements of businesses, empowering them with data center services, cloud solutions, M2M solutions and business applications.

Create events, Get surveys, Repeat!

One of our tasks is to generate sales leads by organizing or sponsoring events. In 2014, we had a lot of events and every single time, we asked the guests to fill out our survey form - in paper format. We get hundreds of survey forms - weekly! We had plenty of leads to share with our very energetic IG Sales team! Everybody happy! Mission accomplished? Well, not exactly.

Houston we have a Problem

Before we can pass on the leads to our sales people, these have to be entered into a spreadsheet. The unenviable task of typing the heap of accomplished paper forms into this spreadsheet falls on the lap of Charles. It took him days to finish typing forms from just a single event.  He still had to call the potential clients before passing them on to our sales teams. By the time the filtered leads are shared with our sales teams, the customers have already forgotten about the event!

Can you imagine inputting survey responses from paper forms - all day? How about all week? Think about the handwriting you can’t read, incomplete information and blank fields!

Last year, IG launched a product called Canvas. Canvas is a cloud-based software service that enables businesses to replace inefficient paper forms with customizable mobile apps for smartphones and tablets. And no programming or IT is required! We converted our survey form on the app (even adding a few more fields) and had respondents fill them out through tablets and smartphones!

We’ve been using Canvas in our events since then. We even use it to take attendance in internal meetings! Now, not only have we saved Charles from an aching back, sore eyes and the difficult task of manually inputting the data, we are also able to move business leads to our sales teams faster than ever.
